ABOUT US

Flora is the creation of Dona Savitsky and Thomas Schnetz and their desire to create a restaurant and bar that echoed the prohibition era and Art Deco style. They wanted to create a place that could evoke the opulence of a bygone era, with carefully crafted cocktails and a menu of reinvented American classics. In creating Flora, they wanted the space to feel as if it had always been there—the loveliness of the building outside reflected in the interior design. Flora is housed is the beautifully ornate Oakland Floral Depot building, a landmark Art Deco jewel of East Bay architecture, located across the street from the newly renovated Fox Theatre.
